These recent artworks, created with watercolours, charcoal or gouache, on high-quality Arches watercolour paper (300gsm), notice the raw beauty of wave patterns, of plant life surviving the harsh conditions at the ocean's edge, and express a fascination with the micro-earthscapes along shorelines.

The painting style and textures in these works are the result of many hours of experimentation with process, observation of my subjects, and exploration of techniques.  Whilst they interpret certain scenes in a way that is recognizable, they are also semi-abstract; materials are used in a way that exceeds artistic control.  Pigments and water are encouraged through movement of the paper to flow and mimic elemental processes. They aim to draw the viewer`s eye into this world, inviting contemplation of the magical life within natural environments.
